Description
Once we receive the 2026 Code in October, our work begins—designing new tabs, revising and printing the keyword index, reminders, and formulas insert. The process of highlighting each Ultimate by hand is very time-consuming, to say the least. Due to the large number of 2023 Ultimates sold, we can’t possibly highlight all of them at once. The first Ultimates are presently scheduled to ship around mid-December.
Before preparing for the electrical exam, you should first contact your building department or the agency administering the exam to inquire which code book should be used for preparation. For example, as of this writing (October 2025), most exam applications specify using either the 2020 or 2023 Code. Rather than asking me this question, ask the agency that is preparing your exam.
PLEASE NOTE: Check with your building department and testing agency on when the 2026 NEC will be enforced. If you don’t have a 2023 Ultimate, you may want to order one now while the supply lasts.
